Rock, Jazz and Pop Bands

Ages 7 and up, schedule determined individually - Students will jam out together, write their own songs and learn classic and current hits. Participants can play any instrument or sing. Bands will rehearse weekly with their faculty coach and cover important topics that are rarely taught like, mic technique, group listening and adding your signature touch to a well-known song.

Future Stars Guitar

Ages 7-10 - Wednesdays 6:00-7:00PM October 15th - January 27th - Taught by VMS guitar faculty members Alan Rigoletto and Ed Littman, Future Stars gets aspiring guitarists of to a rockin’ start! Students learn basic music theory along with classic and popular songs and riffs and perform for friends and family at VMS’s semi-annual recitals.


MINI-Mozarts Piano

Ages 4-7, Saturdays 11:00-11:40 AM October 10th - January 23rd - Taught by VMS co-founder and faculty member Anna Evangelista, Mini-Mozarts classes are groups of 3 - 6 students, each with their own keyboard and headphones. Students learn songs both individually and together. The Mini-Mozart class format was designed by Anna through her work at Primoris Academy.


aP Music Theory and


Taught by VMS faculty member and co-owner, Andrew Shantz, AP Music Theory and History covers the development of Western harmony from Bach through Jazz and 20th Century music. Singers and instrumentalists will also sharpen aural recognition skills - the secret to advancing musical abilities quickly.


MusiC Explorers

Ages 4-7, Saturdays 10:00-10:40 AM October 10th - January 23rd - Students learn music through multiple instruments and a range of activities. This class is great for students with an interest in music yet are not sure what instrument they might wish to learn. The curriculum for Music Explores was developed by VMS faculty member and co-owner Anna Evangelista through her work at Primoris Academy.

AP Jazz improvisation

Also taught by Andrew Shantz, Jazz Improv at VMS provides students with the tools to create meaningful jazz solos as well as an orientation to the practices jazz musicians use to develop and learn over time. Students who complete Jazz Improv will also be fully prepared to take AP Music Theory tests at their high schools.
