In the Spring of 2015, Michael Kern received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey

and joined the VMS faculty soon afterward. He is a member of William Paterson’s chapter of Phi Mu Alpha, America’s oldest and largest national music fraternity. At William Paterson, Michael performed pieces such as Handel’s Messiah, Igor Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, and scenes from operas such as Cosi fan Tutte, The Magic Flute, and Elixir of Love. In addition to his classical background, Michael is also well versed in musical theatre, portraying leading roles in shows such as A Christmas Carol, Bye Bye Birdie, How to Succeed in Business, and Footloose, to name a few.

An active performer, Michael has performed in Montreal, Boston, Washington DC, Ireland, Italy and the Vatican. He has also performed several times in Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, and Alice Tully Hall in New York City.
